This section is dedicated to additional pictures of the Udaloy class destroyer. Most of the pictures on this page are of the destroyer number 472 'Admiral Tributs', but there are a few other ships covered as well. As always, our pictures are all authentic and were taken at some time when the ship was in active service, and usually by the United States navy.
The 'Admiral Spiridonov' at sea In this picture you can see the Udaloy class destroyer 'Admiral Spiridonov'. Unlike the picture on the preceding page, this one shows the ship with the hull number 541. This is the result of the curious Soviet practice of periodically changing a ship's hull number. Why this was done we at the Foundation have no idea. |
The stern of DDG-472 'Admiral Tributs' Here we have a photograph of the stern section of the Udaloy class 'Admiral Tributs'. Its two helipads and some crew can also be seen. The starboard torpedo tubes can also be clearly made out. More detailed pictures of the 'Admiral Tributs' can be seen below. This picture was taken on 12 November 1987 by the US Navy. No location is listed in the photograph. |
Udaloy 533 underway This picture shows Udaloy 533 at sea. It was taken by the US Navy on 14 December 1991. No location was listed with the photo. |
The 'Marshal Shaposhnikov' Here we have a photograph of Udaloy 469, named the 'Marshal Shaposhnikov' which was launched in 1985. What makes this picture interesting is the odd angle that the surveillance plane was at when it was taken on 10 December 1987. No location was given in the US Navy photo description. |
Udaloy Bow Close-up
This picture is part of the series regarding the Admiral Tributs below, but was out of scale with the two below. In it you can see the two forward funs of the Udaloy as well as other details of the bow of the ship. No date or location was given in this photo. |
A Composite Photograph of the Admiral
Tributs
Here are two other pictures of the Admiral Tributs. In them a great deal of detail can be seen. This picture was taken by the US Navy on 1 October 1990. No location was given in the photograph description. |
