Paramilitary Badges
(1930-1937)

This section covers some of the many badges that were awarded to members of the paramilitary organizations such as the Osoaviakhim.  In each case we will attempt to give a full history of each badge when possible, and a general description at the very least. The selection of badges we have to view is very limited at present and is listed below.

Voroshilov Marksman of Osoaviakhim

This badge was given to distinguished marksmen of the Osoaviakhim. Unfortunately, the badge has some enamel missing from one part of the star. The serial number on the back of the badge (550374) and on the fastener (5783) do not match either. When highly polished this copper badge is very nice to look at, we plan on cleaning it up a bit and then taking new pictures of it in the near future.

"Ready for the Medical Defense of the USSR" Badge

This badge was instituted in 1934.  It was awarded to citizens and soldiers alike.  The badge is made of German silver.
